Guard Your Heart
What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the words, ‘guard your heart’? To cover it and not let people in because you’ll only get hurt? To stay away from defiling things that can harm you? What do you think?
In the book of Proverbs, it says in (chapter 4, verse 23), “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Or as another translation says, “…for out of it flows the issues of life.”
I’m reminded of something I heard Zig Ziglar say years ago, and it’s simply this, “garbage in, garbage out”!
It’s a life principle, really. Whatever you put into something, that’s what you’ll get out. There’s no magic here.
You can’t put ‘junk food’ in your heart, any more than you can put junk food in your body, and expect the result to be good, or healthy. Of course, you are free to eat junk food — body, soul and spirit. But if you’re going to do that at least do it with you eyes open knowing it will never produce anything better than what it is itself…junk.
It’s the good tree/bad tree syndrome. A tree can only produce like-kind. So, we can only produce or replicate or have come out of us, what we put into us. And it’s our choice.
It’s always our choice.
So, take good care of your heart, for out of it flows your very life.
For women trying to conceive a baby, it’s worth taking a look at the ovulation calendar that helps you accurately find out your most fertile days.
